Mongolia - Antarctic Exploration
This stamp from Mongolia depicts the penguin species Pygoscelis adelie. These penguins are mid-sized, being 1.5 to 2.5 ft in
length and typically weigh 8.6 to 12.8 lbs. They have a distinctive white ring surrounding their eyes and feathers at the base of
their bills. The stamp is part of a set of eight stamps issued by Mongolia to celebrate the exploration of Antarctica. The stamps show images of creatures that inhabit the Antarctic continent.
