Brazil - Coffee
This stamp from Brazil depicts bags of coffee and raw coffee beans. Brazil is responsible for about a third of all coffee grown in the world. This makes Brazil the world's largest producer of coffee, a position it has held for over 150 years. According to legend, the first coffee plant was brought to Brazil from French Guiana in 1727as a way for the Brazilian government to enter the lucrative coffee market that existed at the time.
