Denmark - 750th anniversary of
the Danish National Flag
This stamp from Denmark was released to celebrate the 750th anniversary of
the Danish National Flag "Dannebrog"
falling from heaven in 1219 at the Battle
of Lyndanisse (in Estonia) against the crusaders. June 15th is
traditionally celebrated in Denmark as "Valdemar
Day", after the Danish king Valdemar II Sejr (Valdemar the
Victorious),
