This stamp depicts a scene from Christmas. The meaning of Christmas to children of Canada was captured in a group of twelve drawings chosen in the Canada Post Office stamp design project in 1969. The theme of the contest was "What Christmas Means to Me". Entries were based on actual experiences from Christmases past. The drawings were submitted to regional committees who narrowed the selections down to the final ones sent on to the postal selection committee, who chose the final 12. |
